Homecoming is almost here, and I want to encourage you to join us in Georgetown for the Iota Chapter’s 140th Anniversary celebration, October 23–25.
If you’ve been on the fence, now is the time to register.
The weekend is built around what Homecoming should be: reconnecting with brothers, celebrating Iota’s history, recognizing some special people, and spending time together at the house and on campus.
Friday evening, the house will be open for an informal gathering, cards, and catching up.
Saturday begins with doughnuts and coffee at the house, followed by our Iota tailgate on campus with breakfast tacos. After the noon football game, we’ll gather back at the house for lunch, a 2:00 PM historical presentation, and our main recognition program beginning at 3:00 PM.
The afternoon program will include 50- and 60-year pins, Alumni Association updates, Starduster and Friends of the Chapter recognition, awards presentations, and a remembrance and champagne toast on the Kappa Sigma Memorial patio.
We’ll then walk together to Southwestern’s Homecoming barbecue picnic on the Mall, where Iota will have its own tent. Afterward, the house will be open again for music and conversation.
One important note: to participate fully in the Iota weekend, you need the main Southwestern Homecoming registration and the Saturday barbecue dinner on the Mall. Football tickets are separate; other university events are optional.
This weekend is a chance to reconnect the generations of Iota, celebrate 140 years of brotherhood, and strengthen the alumni community for the future.
If you haven’t registered yet, please do it now. And if there’s a brother you haven’t seen in years, call him and bring him with you.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at the house.
