Summer Work Weekend, Save the Date, August 23rd

The summer tradition continues.
The motto of “Kappa Sigma is for life” may find no stronger expression than the annual trek to G-town to provide proactive care and maintenance for our beloved House alongside some of Iota’s finest from across the decades.

Save the date for Saturday, August 23rd and make a plan now to join in this vital and rewarding experience.

There’s plenty of work, something for everyone.
For experienced or aspiring grill masters, come help clean out the smoker and trays and re-season the grill surfaces.
There will be pressure washing around the House.
Trimming and cleaning out the hedges, etc.
A full list will post here as the day gets close.
Specialized skills are welcome but not required.

Some work we’re leaving to the professionals.
We are dealing with a water leak above Zeke’s closet that the plumbers can’t yet find. The House Corporation is working on the issue; we may work alongside a construction company doing an urgent upstairs bathroom renovation. Thanks to all alum leaders on the case!

How long might you plan to stay?
The work begins around 8 am on Saturday, August 23 and will go on until about 5 pm.
Plan for a group dinner on Saturday night (Walburg Restaurant has been a go-to in years past), to which everyone is invited, and a final wrap-up by Noon on Sunday before heading home.
